In the real world, privacy feels like a choice. We can close our blinds. We can choose to keep quiet or stay inside. And even when we’re in public buying groceries or talking with a friend, privacy feels like the default. No one’s analyzing our every move.

It might also feel private when we go online and use websites and apps to have discussions, to share photos, and schedule appointments.

You might ask: Does anyone really care about my location, my purchases or what photos I liked on the Web?

The answer is likely “yes”. Many of the websites we use everyday depend on knowing as much as they can about us. The more they know about our actions, preferences, connections and data, the more their service can be tailored to serving our needs - and that is part of what keeps us coming back.

But our information is also valuable for their business. If a company knows the connections and preferences of millions of their users, they can use it to improve their advertising or may even sell this information to other companies.

This, and money from targeted advertising are big reasons many social networking sites are free to use.

So, unlike the real world, privacy is not the default online because websites depend on tracking and remembering information about us.

And this is not necessarily bad. In most cases, we are just one of many millions of users and our data is used as a group and not individually.

But the fact remains that nearly everything we do online is documented somewhere, which brings up important questions like - Who has access to my information? Do I have any choice? Can I see the information a company has about me and how it's being used?

To be more informed about online privacy, here’s what each one of us can do:

Second, every major website has a policy that states how our information is being used and what choices we have. Read them.

Third, find out if those websites have privacy settings that we can manage.

Fourth, learn about settings on our computers, web browsers and devices that can increase our privacy.

Part of being happy and productive online often means sharing some personal information. Before you share too much, take the time to understand your options and how your information can be used in the future.

Answer: Sending an email in bulk to a contact list will help you save time.

Also, tags help you filter and easily identify your contacts.

They provide details or label to make you more productive and efficient while working.

Here's the guide how to send an email to a segment email list or sending an email in bulk.

Click on Email Broadcast tab on top
Click on Create List button on the upper right-hand corner of the page
Click Import Contacts that are relevant to the list
Click Choose file to upload a CSV file where your contacts are saved and compiled.

Another option is to manually add the tag on your current list. Here's how to do that:

On the same page, click on All Contacts from the side bar menu
Seleact a contact and click the edit icon on the far right and apply tag manually.
Click Update button

Note: You need to manually do it one by one on each profile which may take time.

Creating the actual Email Broadcast or sending an email in bulk:

Click on Email Broadcast tab on top
Click on "Create New Broadcast" button on the upper right-hand corner of the page
Select the receipients or the email list. You can select a specific group based on the tags you created.
Apply a filter and choose "User Tag contains".

I’m sure you’ve heard the buzz. Social Media may be the next big thing. What’s it all about?

Let’s take a visit to Scoopville, a town that’s famous for ice cream. For over 20 years, Big Ice Cream Company has been making high quality ice cream with a big factory in town. A few years back, the company did focus groups and found out that they could maximize profits by offering three flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry.

The residents of the town were content. They never thought it could be different. Then something happened in Scoopville – A new invention came to town. Suddenly, everyone could make their own ice cream for only a few dollars. This changed everything.

The Smiths decided to make pineapple ice cream. The Jones’ made ice cream with pecans. Soon, every kind of ice cream imaginable was being made by scoopville’s residents at very little cost.

Of course, some ice cream was more popular than others and that was okay. Sylvia’s pickle ice cream had a very small but loyal following. That was fine. She only needed enough income to buy ingredients for her next batch. Jarret’s red velvet ice cream became so famous, he created his own store. Over time, people started to think differently about ice cream.

It didn’t always come from a factory. It also came from friends and neighbors. It became something to share, something to bring people together, something to celebrate. Big Ice Cream company still made the best vanilla around, and to their surprise, demand even grew. But it was the unique, original and authentic flavors made by the residents, that brought people to Scoopville.

When they arrived, however, there seemed to be a problem. There were too many flavors. Visitors felt overwhelmed. They needed ways to find the new, the popular, the flavors that were interesting to them.

Franklin had an idea for his ice cream. Outside his house, he erected a board and invited his customers to share their thoughts on his ice cream. They could use words to describe it, stars to rate it, and leave messages for others. People loved it.

At a glance, visitors could tell what his ice cream was all about, and learn from people like them. Over time, each resident had their own board. Sylvia’s board showed that her pickle ice cream didn’t please everyone, but was very unique and interesting. Jarret’s board overflowed with positive reviews and ratings.

Soon, a few things became clear. First, their ice cream got better because they could learn directly from customers. Second, free customer reviews were more valuable than costly advertising. And third, the boards created a way for customers to find exactly what they wanted.

The combination of new technology and new ways to work with customers helped the residents feel like a unique community. So, this is social ice cream – by the people, for the people. It turns out that ice cream and social media have a lot in common.

Today, everyone has a chance to make their own flavors, thanks to free tools like blogs, podcasts, and video sharing. Plus, we now have new ways for real people to play a role in providing feedback, organization and promotion. Whether you’re a big established company, an individual with loyal fans, or simply someone with ideas and opinions, social media means new ways to create and communicate with people who care.

Most students know the difference between learning and practicing. Learning might mean listening to a lecture while practicing is solving problems based on that lesson.

Traditionally, class time is used to learn materials and how to solve problems. Then, for homework, the students focus on practicing and turn in homework the next day.

Today, a concept called the flipped classroom is changing this by flipping the traditional approach. Here, students learn the material at home and then use classroom time to work through problems. This way, when a student needs more guidance, the teacher is available to help.

Consider how it worked for Juanita. Her 12th grade math class was starting to learn calculus in the traditional way.

This approach had obvious problems: the students would become bored in class lectures and tune out. Then, at home, they would get stuck and become frustrated, resulting in incomplete homework.

Recently she tried a flipped classroom instead. Here, she assigned students a different kind of homework; not problems to solve, but concepts and ideas to understand. This way, her students were in control of their learning. They could read materials, watch videos and participate in online discussions on their own time and choice of devices.

To help, Juanita learned how to record videos and lectures that students could watch at home. Then, the next day in the classroom, time was used for solving real problems. Juanita could be there when the students needed her help.

They could apply what they learned at home to problems and group activities in the classroom.

Using the flipped classroom, Juanita’s students were more engaged in class and less frustrated because she was there to be a guide.

She knows the flipped classroom is not perfect. Not every student has devices and connections they need for learning at home. For others, distractions at home may make self-directed learning difficult.

But overall, Juanita’s experience has been like many other teachers:the flipped classroom can offer a different approach that serves to optimize the time she has with students.
